Game Gear Titles Coming to 3DS?

Good news for those with second jobs to afford Game Gear batteries; the ESRB has rated two Game Gear games for release on the 3DS Virtual Console. Hopefully this an indication that Sega’s promise for Game Gear VC support will finally come to fruition.

The Simpsons Arcade Game Coming to PSN

One of the great joys for us old ’90s gamers was playing Konami’s fantastic beat-em-ups. Nothing beat the atmosphere of people vying for one of the four control sticks to be a part of the group that beats the game. X-Men and TMNT were great, but The Simpsons Arcade Game has long held a special spot in many an arcade fan’s heart.

The Kingdom of Amalur DLC Foofaraw

Kingdoms of Amalur has had a rough weekend.  With the game’s launch coming up next Tuesday, a well-received demo getting a good amount of play, and a lot of good advance press, Amalur was hitting all the points that warm the twisty little hearts of a PR strategist.  Then it was announced that there was a card with a code included with the game that got the “House of Valor” content, comprising seven quests not available otherwise.  Buy Amalur new and you get the content free, buy used and it’s available for sale.  This was seen by many as yet another step on the road to screw the used game buyer.

Someone Needs to Localize Ragnarok Odyssey

Featuring gorgeous graphics, Japanese-only Ragnarok Odyssey looks to bring much needed Phantasy Star Online/Monster Hunter style action to gamers on the go. It will be the first Vita release for GameArts, the geniuses responsible for Lunar and Grandia. The game looks to be quite deep, complete with a robust character customization system and multiple missions to slay bad guys.

New Game From Terraria Creators

Re-Logic, the independent creators of Terraria, have announced a new unnamed  game. Not many details have been released, but it certainly looks to share strands of DNA with Terraria. The game will be more focused with a main quest and gameplay similar to that of Metroid or Castlevania. For those of you who loved the randomness of Terraria, don’t fret, because this game is said to bring it to a “whole new level”

Crazy Man Rails Against The Gay in Star Wars: The Old Republic

It must be hard to see social progress happening in one’s lifetime when you just know, deep in the pit of your soul, that these changes can only lead to hellfire, damnation, and the corruption of America’s youth.  Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council, took some radio time to berate Bioware for a planned update to Star Wars: The Old Republic that will allow same-gender relations between the player and their companions.  In exactly one minute’s worth of reasonable-sounding orating that masked an impressive amount of distortions, straw-man scenarios, and unrelated facts put side-by-side in order to cause false correlations, Perkins made it sound like the “gay empire” had successfully pressured Bioware into submitting to their “Star Warped way of thinking.”  No really, he actually said the latter quote out loud and everything.
