DOOM 3 BFG Edition Announced/Detailed

While we were all hoping for a DOOM 4 announcement, DOOM 3 BFG Edition could certainly end up being a precursor to it. Available in Autumn for PC, 360 and (for the first time ever on a Sony console) PS3, DOOM 3 BFG Edition includes DOOM 3 and the Resurrection of Evil add-on pack completely remastered in HD. In addition, the BFG Edition will feature “The Lost Missions” single-player campaign, containing seven all-new levels.

In addition to the overhauled graphics, the new edition will feature an updated checkpoint system to allow smoother game progression as well as updated controls. Also making its debut is the new armour-mounted flashlight, allowing you to more easily illuminate dark corners.

If that’s not enough for you, the original two DOOM games will be included as well as the option to play in 3D or with 5.1 sound.

Time to go back to Mars.
