Atari Games Back At Taco Bell

Posted by Steve Hannley on 19 Jun 2012

Now you’ll have a reason to go Taco Bell besides it being 2:45 in the morning. The fast food restaurant is offering a free Atari game with the purchase of a meal. Sure, it’s a Kid’s Meal, but hey, you’re at Taco Bell already — do you really have any pride?

The games include Lunar Lander, Centipede, Asteroids and Breakout. Each game includes three difficulty modes and two ways to play them including retro or with updated graphics.

Taco Bell aficionados may recognize these from a similar promotion two years ago where they could be bought for $1.50. Honestly, given Taco Bell’s reputation for having pretty sketchy Kid’s Meals prizes, they are probably left over from that.

We snapped a picture of the promotion at a Taco Bell, which we’ve posted below. Incidentally,  I love how the recruiting poster simply says “Work Here” and features a girl shrugging her shoulders like she can’t do any better.

One day I plan to expose my child to no American history besides what they can pick up from playing Assassin's Creed III. Then I'm going to drop him or her into a Social Studies class and mildly enjoy the outcome. I'm going to be a great father.

That woman’s getup appears to be from the Lisa Tuttle collection.

“Work….here? I don’t know.”

Not fair, why do I look at tacos so late at night
