Dead or Alive 5 Collector’s Edition Announced

Our fighting game of E3 2012, Dead or Alive 5 is getting ready for its September 25, 2012 launch with the announcement of a collector’s edition. For an additional $20, fighting fans can snag a number of extras. Other than the actual game, you will receive a hardcover art book, a CD of the soundtrack, a poster of the entire cast of characters, and some swimsuit DLC. It’s still unconfirmed whether or not the downloadable costumes will apply to Virtua Fighter characters, but seeing Sarah fighting in a bikini wouldn’t be an eyesore.

In addition to the collector’s edition costumes, there are a number of pre-order bonuses avaliable. Shoppers at Gamestop will receive the “DOA Angels” costume set, which includes white swimsuits for Kasumi, Hitomi and Leifang. Those who go with Amazon will receive the “DOA Devils” costume set, including black swimsuits for Ayane, Christie and Tina.

While Tecmo specifically said they wouldn’t be selling downloadable characters, it definitely doesn’t stop them from selling you downloadable accessories and costumes. Don’t be surprised if these and plenty more show up on the Playstation Store and Xbox Live services.
