Yakuza 1&2 HD Edition Footage

Posted by Adam Beck on 19 Jul 2012

While Sega America remains quiet about the possibility of bringing the HD versions of the first two Yakuza games to America, Sega Japan has gone ahead and announced it through Famitsu, and just now released a trailer showing off some of the HD glory. Like traditional Yakuza game trailers, we have a somewhat lengthy video that slaps together a slew of cinematic cutscenes from the game, along with bold white text on a black background.

If you haven’t played the first two Yakuza games, this may be the time to do so. It really is all about the story as Kazuma’s journey is by far the best thing about the two games (and the future iterations). The problem is that the later games made the gameplay a lot more accessible, adding camera control during brawls and the ability to lock onto targets, so we’ll see if the game still holds up. Regardless, they are indeed superb hits and deserve your time and effort.
