LA Will Continue To Host E3 Through 2015

Posted by Adam Beck on 30 Jul 2012

When it was announced that Farmers Field Football Stadium was looking to be built basically as an extension to one of the convention halls, concern quickly clouded the minds of gamers, journalists and even the Entertainment Software Association. Thankfully, it was announced today that the ESA has worked with the city of Los Angeles to continue to host the Electronic Entertainment Expo through 2015. It definitely helped the negotiations that the 2012 event generated over $40 million in revenue for Los Angeles and brought 45,700 industry professionals, investor analysts, journalists and retailers from all over the world.

“The City of Los Angeles is thrilled to welcome E3 back for another three years,” said Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. “My office was committed to doing whatever it took to keep the largest annual conference that the City hosts here for another three years. I personally joined in the negotiations, and we worked with all parties to ensure the needs of E3 would be met. The City is grateful the Entertainment Software Association continues to view LA, the entertainment capital of the world, as the ideal location for the world’s premiere video game convention.”

With this, next year’s E3 event will be held June 11-13, 2013, with the majority of the large press conferences being held on June 10th. You can definitely expect Hardcore Gamer to be there once again to give you all the coverage you can possibly ask for.

Oh, thank heaven. It’s not that it *has* to be in L.A., it’s just, it’s a very familiar and accessible city. Moving it would cause all sorts of confusion for everybody involved.
