While the SSX reboot was no slouch, it’s no secret the online component was lacking. Though the game has an impressive autolog-like system that tracks your friends scores, allowing them to be challenged to win awards, there’s no “live” compoment. Those who wanted to race a friend in real time were out of luck.
On the official SSX twitter, two screenshots were shared today showing a ranking graph with real players. Stating that they will be “pulling the curtain back soon”, it seems as if these could point only to the much-needed addition of true online matchmaking.
We’ve contacted the SSX team and will keep an eye out for more updates as they arrive. While this purported addition will surely add to the SSX experience, will it be too little, too late?

I can see this working out reasonably well – especially since the game is discounted and people will be more apt to spend $20-$30 on the game with multiplayer available than more than that without it.
