A special Gold Nunchuk was just added to the Club Nintendo store in limited quanities. We were ecstatic to finally get our hands on a precious metal-based controller until we noticed some large print trickery:

“The gold controller will simply be gold in color and will not contain any actual precious metals.”

That’s right: the nunchuck isn’t real gold. Not cast from melted ore; not gold plated; nothing. 900 points for a plastic nunchuk and some metallic gold spray paint. Talk about a misleading name.

If it’s not real gold, what’s the point? To match the Legend of Zelda Gold Wii Remote that wasn’t real gold either? Absurd. If you still want to grab this imposter controller, head over to Club Nintendo.
