Spy Hunter was set for big things until the movie adaption completlely fell apart. Developed as a mindless action vehicle for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the project never got off the ground. Adding more embarrassment to the franchise was the fact that a movie tie-in featuring The Rock was released for a non-existant movie.

Many feared this combined failure may be catastrophic enough to permanently stall the franchise, but Warner Bros Interactive has picked up the pieces with a Vita/3DS reboot that — surpirse — looks like a blast. As seen in the newly released mission trailer, the game looks to cast aside any notions of being anything more than blasting away in a blazing super car. Did we ever want anything else from Spy Hunter?
