David Bateson To Reprise His Role as Agent 47

Posted by Adam Beck on 28 Aug 2012

Hitman fans can breathe a sigh of relief today as Square Enix has announced that David Bateson will be reprising his role as Agent 47 in Hitman: Absolution. Since the game was first shown to the public, fans realized that the voice of their favorite master assassin was not what they remembered, and in traditional internet fandom, people made a fuss about it. But hey, it worked as Bateson will again be key to the Hitman franchise. “IO and Bateson have been bed fellows for over a decade and like all long running relationships sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. Looking back I think we were just playing hard to get,” says Brand Director Jon Brooke.

So what does this tell us about going onto the internet and complaining? It seems like you should do it as most companies now are now listening to everything you have to say. Hitman: Absolution is currently at the center of things considering this isn’t the first change IO Interactive has made. A little over a week ago the company announced that they went back and put “depth” into the sexy nuns shown in the E3 2012 trailer because there was such a backlash. So if you have a valid concern or take issue with something a developer is doing, speak out against it as it’s slowly changing how games are developed.
