Described as the 2D, sprite-based Mincraft, Re-Logic’s Terraria is now headed to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 through digital means. Re-Logic has teamed up with 505 Games to bring the charming adventure to console gamers, but unfortunately details are very scarce at the moment. Both 505 and Re-Logic seem to be ecstatic in seeing what can be done:

It’s always been my dream to have as many people as possible know and enjoy Terraria as much as I have, and this is another big step in that direction! Developed by Engine Software, the game will be available sometime in early 2013 (like every upcoming game) and priced at a very reasonable $9.99 (or 800 Microsoft Points). The inclusion of exclusive features will be announced in the near future.
