Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi Coming to PSP

Posted by Steve Hannley on 31 Oct 2012

Aksys Games announced today that they are bringing the tongue-twisting PSP game Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi to the U.S at an undisclosed date. A follow-up this year’s well-recieved Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, Warriors of the Shinsengumi will tie into its predecesor, offering the ability to play through the events with one of six characters.

The game will offer two different paths. The Shinsengumi Chronicles offers the ability to change history in an alternate universe where the fate of the Shinsengumi is controlled, while Shinsengumi Memorial lets players choose their favorite samurai to play through battles from Demon of the Fleeting Blossom. New to the series is fury mode, where a character can unleash a ferocious attack on anyone around them after dying.

Committed to the seven-year-old console, Aksys will be releasing the game as a physical UMD. New rule: until PSP games stop being sold at retail, nobody can proclaim physical media dead.

One day I plan to expose my child to no American history besides what they can pick up from playing Assassin's Creed III. Then I'm going to drop him or her into a Social Studies class and mildly enjoy the outcome. I'm going to be a great father.

“New rule: until PSP games stop being sold at retail, nobody can proclaim physical media dead.”
