Even though the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3 is dubbed the “special edition”, it seems as though the 360 and PS3 versions will remain the premiere console versions. In response to a tweet asking if the Omega DLC will be available on the Wii U, EA stated that it “unfortunately will not be available for Wii U”. Check out the tweets below:
It’s not clear if there wasn’t enough time to get it on the console or whether this means Mass Effect 3 DLC support will be avoided on the console altogether. Notable is the fact that the Omega DLC was announced to be a whopping 1.99GB (in comparison, Leviathan is 1.65). As the basic Wii U console is 8GB, perhaps they didn’t think taking up so much space would be viable on the console. It will be interested to follow this story to see if avoiding large DLC on the console becomes an unfortunate pattern.
