Debuted over a year ago, Black Knight Sword may seem like an odd game, but considering its from Grasshopper Digital, the same company responisble for Lollipop Chainsaw, No More Heroes and Killer7, it’s about par for the course. After months of waiting, the game will finally see a release on December 12th for Xbox 360. A side-scrolling action throwback to 8 and 16 bit platformers, players take the role of the “Black Knight” on a quest to defeat the White Princess using only a magical sword to slice through enemies along the way. There will also be in-game shops where equipment and upgrades can be purchased.

Perhaps the most notable aspect about the release is the beautiful art style, featuring a theatre backdrop where the limbless character remains stationary as the background moves.
