Dark Souls, which is arguably the best game of 2011, will be getting a sequel, but I’m sure most people already expected that due to incredibly positive sales. Dark Souls II has been officially announced at this year’s Spike TV video game awards show, debuting a beautifully crafted CG trailer. While no information was given outside a chilling dark fantasy visual design, which is what From Software is known for, Famitsu is reporting that the game will be coming out on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The fact that From Software is finally warming up to the PC market is a step in the right direction.
As for the award show itself, I’m not going to lie: I actually thought it was well done. Sure, there were a couple awkward moments, but there were a couple comedic and redeeming ones. It certainly helped that they announced Dark Souls II, The Phantom Pain and The Last of Us’ release date. In any case, we will update you when we get our hands on the official trailer and a possible release window.
