Fire Emblem has never been a slouch, but the extent to which Nintendo has been promoting its 3DS debut is astonishing. After multiple trailers, full-page magazine ads and devoting a good portion of its Facebook to reveal character bios, the company went a step further by offering a limited edition console bundle in Japan. Now, that bundle will even be released in the U.S. as seen in a recent magazine ad:
Unlike Sony and Microsoft consoles, there isn’t a glut of Nintendo game/console tie-ins, so it’s certainly notable when one gets the special treatment. Fire Emblem: Awakening joins the ranks of Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for games that received the bundle. Unfortunately, only the standard 3DS will be available in the bundle, which is not only a gross oversight, but a shame as the handheld (as seen above) is very attractive.
