Numerous Glitches Reported in 3DS Version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

Posted by Steve Hannley on 12 Feb 2013

If there’s one thing Sonic & All-Stars Racing does well on Nintendo consoles, it’s glitches. Back in November, the Wii U version of the game made waves across the internet due to notoriously lacking the majority of boost pads in challenges, rendering the game impossible to progress through unless an annoying workaround was used — but still impossible to fully complete — until a patch emerged weeks later. The 3DS version of the game was just released today (Sega apparently likes staggering the release of this game), and with it come numerous reports of major glitches throughout the game. Multiple forums have been atwitter with accounts of issues like falling through the floor, flipping to the opposite direction when boosting in water, random respawns, portals registered as solid walls and much more.

If that weren’t enough, there’s also been many complaints about the game freezing and framerate issues throughout. We’ve yet to get our hands on a copy of the game, but it sounds like this port raced too quickly past quality control.

Check out a video showing one such glitch, which would be pretty hilarious if it weren’t so pathetic:

No word yet if a patch is planned to remedy the issues.

One day I plan to expose my child to no American history besides what they can pick up from playing Assassin's Creed III. Then I'm going to drop him or her into a Social Studies class and mildly enjoy the outcome. I'm going to be a great father.
