PS Store Update Offers Discounts and Free Closure

Posted by JPeeples on 12 Feb 2013

This week’s PS Store update has gone live, and beyond offering up savings on a variety of Twisted Metal games and free DLC for PS All Stars, also allows you to get Closure for free if you’re a + member, while Critter Crunch’s price drops down to $1.40 thanks to the program, Derrick the Deathfin goes to $4 with it, and Alien Breed’s cross-buy can be had for $8 instead of $10. Beyond that, demos for a new Yu-Gi-Oh! game, Page Chronica, Big Sky Infinity, and Dynasty Warriors 7 are available. A slew of games have had outright price drops, including Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars going down to $5 from $10, which also applies to Alien Syndrome and Super Monkey Ball Adventures. Valkyria Chronicles 2 goes from $20 to $10, while the Sonic Rivals games and Crush cost $7 instead of $10. Amy has seen its price go from $10 all the way down to $3.

Notable temporary sales include the Alien Breed Trilogy of remakes going from $22.50 to $11.50, Beyond Good and Evil HD, Rayman 3 HD, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game going from $10 to $5. Ecolibrium hits the Vita for free, while Everybody Dance is free for the PS3 and gives you a reason to dust off your Move with some free tracks and boatload of pay ones. Pinball Arcade gets its seventh table pack, including Scared Stiff and Big Shot. Persona 4 Arena is also available for $30, and its full game trial is available for free if you’re a Plus member. There’s quite a bit of variety on display with this week’s update, and it’s very easy to recommend Scott Pilgrim to anyone who doesn’t have it, while CT: Fare Wars also offers up a lot of fun provided you’ve got your PSP or Vita loaded up with Offspring and Bad Religion songs. Or you could try playing the game with some ’00-era Backstreet Boys if you so desire. It really couldn’t be much worse than three different versions of Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” being put into Burnout: Dominator.

It’s nice to finally get some closure.
