The 2013 PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards are now officially under way. Voting opened yesterday and will continue through February 25th for those who still need time to mull over their decisions. The awards span ten categories, including Best PS3 Game, Best Vita Game, Best PSN Exclusive, and Least Terrible PlayStation Move Enabled Game. Only three games were nominated in each category with some pretty notable snubs, but those interested in voting can either do it through the PlayStation Store or the PlayStation website.
There are those that say voting is its own reward. Those people are suckers. Luckily, PSN knows this as well, and voting in any of the categories gets you some goodies. Not only do you immediately get a free PS3 background theme for the game you selected, but all winning games go on sale on February 26th after the conclusion of the voting. This seems like an incredibly stupid incentive to me, because surely the game you think is the best you already own or have played, making a sale on the game pointless. If anything this should push people to vote for not which game they liked the most, but whichever game they haven’t played yet that they’d most like to own. Ah well, I suppose that’s the rub.
The full list of nominees are included below, but all you really need to know is that Gravity Rush is nominated and definitely deserves to win.
