Final Fantasy Closed Beta Testing on February 25

Posted by Jake on 22 Feb 2013

Fans have been bummed since Square Enix shut down the FFXIV servers in November, but now is the time to rejoice, as Final Fantasy XIV: Realm Reborn is coming soon.

The company has announced closed beta testing where players can sign-up here if they wish to be considered. It might not be a bad idea to try out the game, as Realm Reborn is the first MMO game to be completely revamped from scratch. New character races are playable, redesigned field maps and introducing the Full Active Time Event system. FATE allows for random field events such as hamlet defense. Players don’t need to form parties either; as long as they’re in the area of the event they can partake.

Scores and ratings haven’t been so hot for the original release, but hopefully with new content they can bump it up. The game is set for release later in 2013 for the PC and PS3. To check out how well your computer will be able to run the game, you can download benchmark software by following this link. The software rates your computer’s performance quality for the game. If you’re a loyal fan of the series, give it a shot.
