New High Level Content Comes to Seekers of Adoulin

The latest expansion for Final Fantasy XI, entitled Seekers of Adoulin, went live about a month ago. Since then, veterans, returning players and newbies alike have found much to do in the undying world of Vana’Diel. With Seekers, came a host of new content, much of which involved new classes, new areas and of course new quests. While much of this was exciting for all players, some high level folks out there were still left clamoring for more to do. Square-Enix apparently heard the pleas of their fans, and have answered with new high level content for those dedicated XI aficionados.

This coming Monday, XI will undergo a rather sizable update. In that patch, players will be treated to all sorts of end-game goodness. The package, however, will mostly focus on a slew of all-new battle content which will include the following:

Delve – By using a special item, up to eighteen players can plunge into spatial distortions known as “fractures” to vanquish five powerful monsters and their leader. Players are rewarded with powerful equipment after completing a successful fracture.
Otherworldly Skirmishes – Up to six different players can enter an ethereal realm to fight against a swarm of enemies by using a special sculpture in the land of Ulbuka. Surviving against the swarm will yield victors a cache of powerful armor and additional armaments.
For those who missed it, Final Fantasy XI: Seekers of Adoulin is available for $29.99 on PC and Xbox 360. The Final Fantasy XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition is also available (for $39.99, no less), and includes the base game, all five expansion packs, three add-on scenarios and three battle area add-ons. This seems like the perfect way to tide over the FF fanatics of the world, while they wait for the re-launch of Final Fantasy XIV.
