Remember when the reboot to the XCOM brand was announced way back in 2010? Then do you remember when Enemy Unknown was both revealed and released well before we heard anything further from the first-person shooter? Well finally, after many years of silence and concern, 2K Marin’s baby is finally being made. Now titled as The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, this is far from your traditional XCOM experience (at least in terms of gameplay), offering a third-person “tactical” shooter that takes place over fifty years ago.
Set during the year 1962, players will take control of Agent William Carter of The Bureau who gets mixed up with an alien invasion. With your advanced technology, fight waves of UFOs and help ensure Earth’s safety while trying to keep the peace. The Bureau: XCOM Declassified will be hitting the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC platforms on August 20, 2013 in North America, and three days later in Europe and Australia. It’s not like the month is already crowded.
