If there is one thing that anyone will ever learn about the media, is that any sort of sex appeal will heighten the sales of just about anything that it’s associated with, and it seems that longtime Metal Gear Soild V: The Phatom Pain producer Hideo Kojima is starting to get that memo, as he urges his character designers to make the game look ‘more erotic.’
With the game already looking as epic and story-driven, Kojima now seems to have other things in mind as far as promoting the image of the game. His reasoning for encouraging his devs to make female characters—more notably Quiet—to step up the erotic appeal may be surprising for some.
“The initial target is to make [you] want to do cosplay or its figurine to sell well,” Kojima said.
“Recently, I’ve been making characters this way. I create the setting thoroughly, how he/she spent early life, name style, favorite phrase, fashion, action to stand the character out.”
This actually isn’t very surprising at all. Japan is known for having a collective gutter mind and Kojima is just stepping up to the plate and being public about it. As big as it is here in the states, the realm of cosplay is huge in Japan and if the director of the one of the most beloved video game series wants to see women dress up as one of his creations in time for Tokyo Game Show convention…more power to him.
Homeboy should totally drop that release date for MGSV: The Phantom Pain, though. That would make anyone…er…hit their erotic needs for the day. Right? Right!?
