With all the trolling that Kojima has done surrounding Metal Gear Solid V the past year, it’s hard to keep it all straight, but at this point it seems like “The Phantom Pain” is the main game and “Ground Zeroes” will serve as a prologue, both part of the same “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” package. After that it all gets a bit hazy and hard to know exactly what each portion will offer.
Kojima has shed some more light on the matter in a recent Japanese interview with Game Watch, however, stating that Ground Zeroes will be 1/300 the size of The Phantom Pain. From what we’ve seen of The Phantom Pain so far, it seems to offer a sizable world, so this news either means that Ground Zeroes is tiny or The Phantom Pain is enormous. More likely than not, however, it’s the latter as a 300% increase is a large figure to throw out.
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for the latest MGSV information coming out TGS and keep you posted.
