Zeboyd Games have launched a Kickstarter for their upcoming turn-based JRPG, Cosmic Star Heroine. Slated to come out in 2014 for PC, Mac, PS4 and PS Vita, the game features classic turn-based battles, minimal grinding, animated cutscenes reminiscent of the Sega CD era and a soundtrack from Hyperduck (Dust: An Elysian Tail), all presented with 2D 16-bit style visuals.
The games comes from Zeboyd games, who developed Breath of Death VII: The Beginning, Cthulhu Saves the World and the third and fourth Precipice of Darkness titles.
The Kickstarter will run a month with a goal of $100,000. At the time of writing, the campaign has already earned over a fourth of its goal, currently sitting at just over $27,000. As far as rewards go, $10 will get you a digital copy of the game, $25 will snag the game plus Zeboyd’s previous titles, $50 will get early beta access and $100 gets a t-shirt.
