After making waves in the indie world by creating a fantastic game, having that creation documented in an ensuing acclaimed film and then making headlines repeatedly for various shenanigans, it’s not all that surprising that Fez has been successful. But how successful? Enough to sell a million copies.
Developer Polytron announced the news today, stating:
FEZ has now sold over a million unit across all platforms.
That’s right, a cool mil!
And we couldn’t have done it without you!
Thank you for buying the game!
Thank you for stealing it!
Thank you for telling your friends about it!
Thank you for buying it again when it came out on PC!
Thank you for boycotting it so well!
Thank you for putting up with the bullshit!
Thank you for all your love letters, fan art, cosplays and freakin’ tattoos you got, you crazy bastards!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
THANKS A MILLION!
In proper Phil Fish fashion, there are a few insults hidden in there to make it not all that sincere, but hey that’s probably the best we’re going to get. Plus, now we pretty much have to get a Fez II, don’t we?
