Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 Reveal Little Tail Story for Smartphones

Last week Bandai Namco launched a mysterious site, which teased a collaboration with CyberConnect2. Given their history of making anime games, the last two teaser sites were for Jump series and the map in the background, most people thought the site was related to One Piece. However, it was revealed today that the site is actually for Little Tail Story.

So, what is Little Tail Story? To put it simply, Little Tail Story is a turn based RPG with anthropomorphic cats and dogs. The game features several different classes, which all have their own good and bad aspects. To give you an idea, the fencer can only hit one enemy, but they do significant damage. On the other hand, mages can attack up to nine enemies, but their damage output is poor.

In addition to classes, Little Tail Story also has an affinity system. This system is about as rudimentary as it gets and is your standard, fire beats wood, wood beats water and obviously water beats fire. Beyond that, there are various weapons and armor to collect, so there is a lot more than meets the eye.

Along with the games announcement, Bandai Namco also released a trailer for Little Tail Story. The trailer, found above, gives you an introduction to everything and teases other things like a Kite (.hack//sign) and Red SavarinĀ (Solatorobo: Red the Hunter) costume. If you trailers aren’t your thing, you can find some screenshots below. They cover various elements and give you an idea of what I am talking about.

Currently Little Tail Story is set to release this spring in Japan and will be available for both iOS and Android device via the Google Play store. No word on if this game will come to the west, but going off Bandai Namco’s history, it could go either way.
