Xbox One Version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suddenly Available to Download

So this is a weird one. It was recently announced that the Xbox One would miss the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, a game that is available on nearly every console (even Wii U). Amazon kept a listing of the game live with a placeholder of July 1, but it seemed like the game would likely never see release on the console. Without warning, however, the game has popped up on Xbox Live and is now available to buy ($59.99) and download (9.89 gigabytes).

At this point, we’re not sure if this is a mistake or if the game was stealth released digitally, but we’re currently downloading the game and will update this article with any new information surrounding the situation.

UPDATE 1:09 AM:

We’ve completed the download and are able to access the game. Thus far it seems to be the full, completed game optimized for the Xbox One. We’ll try to get it streaming live this morning on Twitch. Stay tuned for more.
