The upcoming PS4 version of the endearing Vita game Tearaway, Tearaway Unfolded, isn’t going to be a simple port. In an IGN preview of the game with UK editor Daniel Krupa, it was revealed that about 50% of Tearaway Unfolded will be new content unseen in the Vita original. Krupa had previewed the game after returning from speaking with Tearaway visionaries, Media Molecule.
“[Media Molecule] are adding twists. [Tearaway Unfolded] is a heavy adaptation and they said about 50% of it is new. They didn’t want to commit to a quantification of it, but it’s like 50% is new. It’s a lot more stuff in there.”
While it’s still unknown what kind of new content Tearaway Unfolded will be adding (new levels or simply refit controls?), it will be interesting to see how the PS4 Tearaway will change the Vita-specific control features, like the use of the rear touch pad.
Tearaway Unfolded is set for a 2015 release and remember to read our review of the original Tearaway on Vita.
