First Mario Kart 8 Update Goes Live – Adds Mercedes-Benz Karts and Gameplay Tweaks

The first Mario Kart 8 patch takes up 136 MB and adds the ability to download the Mercedes-Benz karts via an in-game store. You can also display the course map on the TV if you want, and a much-needed change makes “next race” the default option after a race instead of “watch highlight reel”. You can also save your most recent vehicle customization setup if you so desire. As an extra bonus, you can now buy the game’s two DLC packs right now via the eShop – with each pack costing $7.99 on its own, or $11.99 total if bought together.
