Once, Emily was just the daughter of an esteemed scientist. That was before a pandemic swept across the world, infecting millions, including herself. Her father attempted to save her, but was captured by the government of this dystopia before seeing the result of his work. Emily lived – just with her body completely transformed by the robotic elements injected into her system. That’s just how things begin in the game EMILY, which is currently seeking funding via Kickstarter.
As a now inhuman being, Emily ventures into the world to find and save her father. EMILY plays as a 2D Metroidvania-style platformer. That means players are free to search an expansive post-apocalyptic landscape, fighting enemies, gaining new powers, and unraveling secrets as they go.
Developer Pixel Worm brought EMILY to Kickstarter with a goal of $60,000. If all works out, they’ll release the game to Steam (and DRM-free) by Fall 2015. Right now, a limited amount of people can pledge $10 to receive EMILY. Once those 500 slots are gone you’ll need to select the $15 pledge. Funding for EMILY ends on October 16.
