Leonard Nimoy, Star Trek Icon and Game VA, Passes Away at 83

It’s with heavy hearts that we at Hardcore Gamer report that Leonard Nimoy, best known as Mr. Spock from the original Star Trek series, has passed away. He was 83 years old. The reported cause of death was end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

While Mr. Spock was easily his most notable role, Nimoy had some rather prolific voice acting roles in recent video games. Beyond voicing Spock in Star Trek Online, Nimoy also voiced Master Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.

Nimoy also narrated the games Seaman on Dreamcast and Civilization IV on PC.

Hardcore Gamer offers its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and co-workers of Leonard Nimoy. Rest in peace, Mr. Nimoy.

He did a fantastic job voicing Xehanort. I don’t think they could get anyone better or even close to him. Sad 🙁

    He’ll be missed. 🙁
