Mortal Kombat X Trailer Adds Four More Characters to the Roster

NetherRealm Studios has released a new trailer for Mortal Kombat X, adding a total of four new characters to the roster. More importantly, we get our first look at the game’s story.

The plot, taking place 25 years later, focuses on multiple factions fighting over a powerful Talisman (fans of the franchise will instantly recognize it). One such faction is Mileesa’s Outworld rebel army, who aim to kill Kotal Khan and put Mileena on the Outworld throne. We’re also introduced to two brand new fighters; Jacqueline Briggs, daughter of Jax, Takashi Takeda, son of Kenshi, and Kung Jin, descendant of Kung Lao.

In the trailer, we also get brief glimpses of Sindel and Shinnok. Whether or not they’ll be playable remains to be seen. Nor do we know if parents Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Jax, or Kenshi will make it into the game. There are still plenty of characters to be announced, and plenty of possible fighters to fill those ranks.

Mortal Kombat X is out April 14 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
