Vivox is Bringing Voice Chat to Elder Scrolls Online on Consoles

Good news for console MMO fans, Vivox is partnering up with ZeniMax Online Studios to incorporate their voice chat technology into console versions of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

Players can take advantage of the natively supported voice chat, either via private or public channels based on proximity to other players. This means players on consoles who wear headsets can walk to another player character online and strike up their own brand of colorful conversation.

Vivox was the natural choice for the folks over at ZeniMax Online, according to game director Matt Firor, and its multi-platform capabilities really sealed the deal. For more on The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, check out our preview of it here.

Am I high or something? ESO already HAS online chat capability on consoles, including proximity capabilities. It’s built into the interface. Right?
