Apple confirms iPad Pro Release Date

Apple today has confirmed the release date for iPad Pro. As leaked last week, the iPad Pro will indeed be available on Wednesday, November 11, but only from Apple’s website. iPad Pro won’t go on sale at Apple retail stores, select carriers, and Apple Authorized Resellers until later this week. The Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard will also be available from the online Apple store on Wednesday.

iPad Pro is Apple’s entry into the plus-sized tablet market. The super-sized iPad features a 12.9 inch Retina display with over 5.6 million pixels, and the new 64-bit A9X chip. Apple claims this chip rivals most portable PCs. Like previous iPads, the iPad Pro is seriously thin, and packs in about 10 hours of battery life. Apple is offering the Apple Pencil, a stylus designed to specifically work with the iPad Pro, and the Smart Keyboard to enhance the functionality of the device.

“The early response to iPad Pro from app developers and our customers has been incredible, and we’re excited to get iPad Pro into the hands of customers around the world this week,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPad Pro is the most powerful iPad we’ve ever made, giving users the ability to be even more creative and more productive with the epic 12.9-inch Retina display, powerful 64-bit A9X chip and groundbreaking Apple Pencil and new Smart Keyboard. We can’t wait to see what they do with iPad Pro.”

Apple is working with key software developers to bring a wide selection of apps to iPad Pro. iPad Pro will have everything from productivity, design, illustration, engineering and medical, to education, gaming, and entertainment. iPad Pro starts at $799 for the 32GB wi-fi model, and $1079 for the 128GB wi-fi +Cellular model.
