Koei Tecmo have announced a few goodies concerning their upcoming open-world action RPG Toukiden 2. For starters there will be a “Treasure Box” limited edition of the game, including an art book, original soundtrack, nine character illustrations, and DLC for exclusive armor. On top of that, GameCity and Amazon Japan will have exclusive limited edition sets which include the “Treasure Box” contents as well as 17 Slayer charms, two clear character illustrations, and a DLC code for the presumably cat-themed “Nyabraham Linnyan” Mitama.
Excited fans may be interested to know a Japanese PlayStation 4 demo of the game will release on April 11, with a PlayStation Vita demo coming at an undisclosed time after. PlayStation Plus and Niconico Premium user can gain access to the demo three days in advance, but Niconico Premium users need to apply for a code between March 26 and 27, at 11:59 pm JST.
Toukiden 2 is set two years after the events of Toukiden: Kiwami and will feature returning characters from previous games. Toukiden 2’s character editor has seen improvements over previous games’, and includes ornament, body, voice, contour, and weapons options, among others. There are six general areas to explore that will include environments from the previous games. Save data from Toukiden: Age of Demons and Toukiden: Kiwami will also come in handy due to a save data transfer feature. Interestingly, anime and manga fans may be happy to know that promotional Toukiden 2 manga and anime are in the works and will be produced by STUDIO4℃ (Berserk: The Golden Arc, Halo Legends). The manga will be featured in the Dengeki Maou, starting June 27.
Toukiden 2 is set to launch in Japan on June 30, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. For more on the Toukiden series, see our Toukiden: Kiwami review.
