The Final Station Rolls Into View This August

tinyBuild Games have today laid down the final bit of track towards their upcoming post-apocalyptic survival-come-train simulator title, The Final Station. Announcing on the official PlayStation Blog, The Final Station — developed by Do My Best Games — will be available across PS4, Xbox One & PC on August 30. Needless to say, The Final Station was one of a few titles on show at this year’s E3 that we felt cemented tinyBuild’s status as an intriguing and notable developer-publisher to keep track of.

For those not in the know, The Final Station sets players in the role of a train driver whose main mission is to travel the length and breath of a post-apocalyptic Earth on one of the last remaining, functioning locomotives — gathering survivors and resources…and coming across many perilous encounters as a result. It’s up to you to determine how resources are used, ultimately deciding the fate of the train itself as much your accumulated passengers. And if that wasn’t enough, the more tense side-scrolling sections during the out-in-the-field hunts for supplies provide the game with some intriguing risk:reward moments.

“A few minutes into the demo people understand that this is a very deceptively challenging game…” Alex Nichiporchik, CEO of tinyBuild, explains on announcing the release. “…the difficulty of the game comes from its station design — you never see what’s behind a locked door and are always running low on supplies..Watching players brace themselves before opening up a door is my favorite moment as a spectator. You’re constantly low on ammo and medkits, and have to be tactical about approaching enemies.” Check out the game’s PS4 announcement trailer below and don’t forget to read up on our preview of this plus a few more of tinyBuild’s intriguing line-up of games for 2016 and beyond.
