After being revealed 8 months ago, SEGA has kept mysteriously quiet on Sonic Team’s next title, which held the mysterious tentative name of Project Sonic 2017.
Fortunately, that all changed yesterday, during a panel at SXSW 2017 where several members of the Sonic Team discussed the future of the blue blur. In addition to showing new gameplay for the throwback 2D title Sonic Mania, Sonic Team finally revealed some new details on this year’s 3D Sonic title, which is now known as Sonic Forces. The developer also debuted the first gameplay for Sonic Forces, which can be seen below, and features gameplay similar to what we have seen in recent Sonic games, but with an apocalyptic setting.
Sonic Forces is slated to launch this Holiday season for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
