As Nintendo gears up for a big late game in the year, more details surface on two major titles. Information regarding new modes (via Reddit) for Splatoon 2 and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (also Reddit) showing off more playable characters have surfaced (over at the Nintendo UK eShop). Now just how much room the Switch will need has been revealed for both games.
When purchased digitally, Splatoon 2 will require 3.1 GB, with Mario + Rabbids coming out at 2.3 GB. Not the worst offenders as far as room goes, especially for first party games, so don’t worry about clearing too much room.
If Nintendo can keep up the trend of making smaller sized games then maybe the 40 GB the Switch comes with isn’t so bad. Zelda was the exception this year, coming out at 13.4 GB. Luckily, it already seems Nintendo doesn’t need that much room for other games, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe taking up only 6.6 GB and ARMS taking up 2.2 GB.
We’ll see if Super Mario Odyssey will continue the trend. For now, though it’s safe knowing the panic of clearing room on the Switch drive shouldn’t be the biggest problem.
