Dragon Age’s Mike Laidlaw Leaves BioWare

Today is an unfortunate day for the long time RPG developer. Mike Laidlaw, best known for penning Jade Empire and his involvement with the iconic Dragon Age franchise, has left the Edmonton-based studio. Laidlaw posted a heart-filled letter on his Twitter account, announcing his departure from his position at the company after fourteen long years.

This is an incredibly disappointing loss for BioWare, with the vast majority of their creative talent that made the company so popular back in the day no longer working on some of our favorite RPG franchises.¬†Only time will tell how this will impact BioWare’s future and their games, but it’s no doubt something a lot of BioWare will be disappointed about.

We wish you best in your future endeavors, Mike, and excited to see what you will do next.
