As promotion for the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken, Capcom today started their two week reality show series Cross Assault live for free on stream site Twitch.TV.
A lot of things about Jessica don’t make sense. For instance, she is 95 lbs yet holds a enormous sniper rifle and her tactical gear consists of a catsuit sans a leg. Possibly most odd of all, though, is that she constantly flirts with her partner as there are bloodthirsty monsters trying to murder them.
We’ve decided to compile of list of her five most groan-incuding lines heard in the game. Here they are:
Mechwarrior is getting revived in a big way. Not only are Mechwarrior: Online and Mechwarrior: Tactical Command slated to come out this year, but free to play Mechwarrior Tactics has also been revealed. Check out details and concept art below. Head over to the official site to preregister your name.
People who make cracks about the game's name should immediately stop existing.
One of my favorite games (and there’s many) for the Dreamcast was Seaman. Released in 2000, Seaman still seems revolutionary. You were involved in the entire life cycle of the creature, eventually conversing with it via the Dreamcast’s microphone. Even though Seaman is, to put it gently, an odd life form, you really became attached to him as if he were an actual pet.
The latest Humble Bundle is something just a bit different than normal, to say the least. Mojang took a poll over the week as to what kind of game they should create in a 60-hour coding fest, and combined the first and last place winners into a genre mashup. Catacomb Snatch will be, once it’s done in 15 hours, “a real-time strategy shoot ‘em up, with a steampunk, ancient Egypt theme!” Seriously, how can you not love a description like that?
A new trailer has been released that cements Kid Icarus: Uprising’s “must-buy” status. Check out the “Three Sacred Treasures” trailer above which highlights some gorgeous looking environments and strong graphics. With its launch sandwiched between Resident Evil: Revelations and this, suddenly Vita’s advanced graphics don’t seem as impressive.
A couple of years ago, when Hardcore Gamer was a magazine and I was writing the Graveyard, I wished for a sequel to one of my favorite 3DO games. Star Fighter was a fun 3D arcade shooter that let you blast loads of enemies and enemy buildings on a variety of worlds, carve out hillsides with laser fire, ascend into the atmosphere to take out satellites in low orbit, and then divebomb back to the hills again. The sense of freedom in flight was unmatched, as goals were laid out in advance and you were generally left to tackle them using whatever strategies you felt were best. Sadly, it never got the sequel it deserved, and the only versions worth playing were on 3DO and, according to Wikipedia, given away free on a magazine demo disk for the Acorn RiscPC. The more common versions for Windows, PS1, and Saturn were fairly wretched due to the claustrophobic fog used to cover up the draw distance limitations. In a game about free flying, being bound on all sides by an impenetrable grey wall was a deal-breaker. Star Fighter was quickly forgotten.
After 17 years, it’s about time for a proper update, wouldn’t you think? And here’s Space Fighter 4000 Training Missions to give a taste of what it might feel like.
