E3 2012: Ninja Gaiden Goes Back to its Roots

Team Ninja is bringing Ninja Gaiden back to Nintendo with Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge. The remake portrays Ryu like a champion ninja again, and might be a public apology for the 360 and PS3 versions of Ninja Gaiden 3. Whether or not this is a reboot or just a tweak is still in the air. Players can still look forward to new weapons and more Ninpo types available for use. The Wii-U controls look like they might solve some of the more frustrating controls of NG3. Reports indicate updates in A.I., controls, and the reintegration of dismemberment.

Hardcore gamers will probably notice Ninja Gaiden hasn’t been on a Nintendo console since SNES. Some are hailing this return of Ryu as an indication of how Nintendo plans on dominating the gaming world in every facet. High sales in family fun games, and stomping the Mature market along the way. Remember the days when it was indisputable that Nintendo had the best exclusives? It’s looking like the new era consoles are bringing gamers back to the old days.

Razor’s Edge is slated for a late 2012 release.
