E3 2012: Genre Awards

The sting of Tomb Raider being delayed was instantly forgotten when the game was shown off at E3. Gone are the days of a disproportionate Lara and clichéd storytelling. This is a realistic, hard-hitting title about a woman trying to survive the elements. There was an amazing sense of dread felt when playing the demo — you honestly felt bad for Lara and wanted to help her. Not only are the setting and visuals absolutely gorgeous, but the gameplay looks like a blast as well. Who would have thought Tomb Raider could be groundbreaking?
