While it’s taken Namco Bandai over a year to localize the vibrant Ni no Kung, at least they’re doing everything they can to compensate for it. The European release of Ni no Kuni will be getting a collector’s edition dubbed ‘Wizard’s Edition’ which contains an assortment of nice little goodies. Along with the actual game, you will receive two pieces of downloadable familiars named “golden mite” and “golden drongo,” an adorable plush doll of Drippy, and an astonishingly long 300+ page hardcover companion book. Unfortunately, a price point didn’t come with the reveal, but expect the hardcover book to help the dollar value climb.
Ni no Kuni is a turn-based RPG that is focused around a thirteen-year-old child by the name of Oliver. Oliver ventures off in the dangerous world after his mother suddenly passes away, only to be accompanied by his animated doll after his tears brought it to life. This is a breautifully crafted RPG with bright colors and wonderful use of cel shading. Sadly, no collector’s edition has been confirmed for America, and it probably won’t be. Ni no Kuni is out on store shelves January 22nd in North America and January 25th in Europe.
UPDATE: I guess I’ll eat my own words as Namco Bandai has confirmed that the Wizard’s Edition will be headed to North America, as well. Yippee!
