Anyone who played the first title on PC or XBOX is familiar with the pain, and it looks like it won’t be long before we get to jump back into the thick of it. Painkiller is coming back in full force. Soon to be released for PC is its full length HD reboot Painkiller: Hell & Damnation.
At the helm is development team The Farm 51, using the Unreal 3 Engine to put it on same level (graphically) as all of our other favorite shooters. They’ve already announced several different modes for the game — some playable through the limited beta. The four named modes are Single Player, Network Co-op, Deatchmatch, and Team Deathmatch.
The game features enormous rifles, monstrous turrets, and an arsenal of weaponry that would require much more than a painkiller to remedy. While much about the release is still undecided, PH&D will be coming to Steam sometime in October. The possibility of a console release for 360 and PS3 fans was discussed, but has yet been confirmed.
