Surviving the Horror in Outlast

The new Montreal-based studio Red Barrels Games, comprised of many former Ubisoft and EA artists, programmers and designers, is looking to scare the pants off of you in a whole new way. While many still consider the genre to be dead with Resident Evil and Dead Space leaning more on the action side of things as of late, Red Barrels Games is looking to bring back survival horror in an even better capacity.

While we only had a vague understanding of the project, the developer has released a trailer demonstrating the atmosphere and jump scares you can prepare to experience. Outlast will be available sometime next year for Windows PC, with hopefully console versions to follow.
