Vita Gets PS+, Free Games, and Firmware Update on 11/19

November 19th is looking like a great day for Vita owners. Not only is the PlayStation + service hitting the platform then, but so is the v2.00 software update that adds an e-mail app that works with up to five e-mail addresses, wireless file transferring between the Vita and a PC, cloud storage for save data allowing you to delete Vita game data and keep your save, and browser enhancements that will allow for 1080p video playback and closed captioning. Perhaps the most exciting news is the lineup for the instant game collection on the 19th. Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, Wipeout 2048, Jet Set Radio, and Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack are the Vita-exclusives you’ll have for free, while the PSP version of Final Fantasy Tactics gives you some SRPG goodness on the go as well.

This lineup gives you three of the system’s best killer apps alongside the Vita version of a Dreamcast classic, one of the better PSN offerings for the system, and an enhanced remake of an SRPG classic to showcase the system’s PSP playback. It’s a very well-rounded listing and should have something for everyone in it. Even as an owner of Gravity Rush, FFT, Wipeout 2048, and Mutant Blobs Attack, I’m excited about this because of Uncharted, JSR and glad that I have the physical games for Wipeout and GR since the downloads are huge and the Vita’s memory options are both limited in terms of space and quite expensive.
