|With Uncharted finally over, it’s time for Naughty Dog to look to the future with The Last of Us. It’s a brutal, vicious future in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a deadly fungal outbreak, sure, someone’s got to smack the Infected in the face with a steel pipe and it might as well be us. There’s a promised combination of deep story and dynamic stealth-based combat that’s hard not to get excited for, especially with the amazing videos Naughty Dog has been releasing. If that’s not enough, it’s hard to resist the plight of Joel, who’s trying to keep his daughter alive against everything a screwed up world populated by vicious Infected and paranoid or crazy survivors can throw their way. The future is looking bleak, brutal, and oddly beautiful, and its arrival should be one of the major gaming events of 2013.
