|If we had a “Most Improved” category, Telltale would win it. Rising from the utter failures of Jurassic Park: The Game and Law & Order: Legacies, they created one of the best and most popular games of the year. While the studio did a fantastic job with the Sam and Max redux series, it wasn’t until The Walking Dead that the industry truly began to take notice. There wasn’t huge budget, the graphics weren’t innovative (although beautiful) and it was on the same production level of their past two games, but that didn’t stop them from creating an emotional resonant game that took what’s best about Telltale and stuffed a bunch of rotting corpses around it. With a renewed vigor (and we assume investors), it’s truly exciting to imagine what will come next from the studio.
