Path of Exile Goes Into Open Beta at the End of the Month

For those disappointed with Diablo III and everything it has to offer, Path of Exile may be of interest. A free dungeon crawler in the vein of something more Gothic like Diablo II, Path of Exile is old school and sure to delight those looking for a solid loot-collecting experience. The RPG, from developer Grinding Gear Games, goes into open beta on January 23. Until then, and for the hardcore wanting to get in on the action before that date, it’s still possible to do so by donating anywhere between $10 and $1,000. Much like a good Kickstarter project, the more money you plunk down, the better stuff you get in return.

Path of Exile is a game that should feel familiar to anyone who is acquainted with this certain genre of PC RPGs. There’s six classes to choose from, plenty of leveling up and stat allocation to be enjoyed and a sinister storyline for anyone interested in gripping, dark fantasy lore. If that sounds interesting, check it out here.
